NEXT: Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs changed the human race by empowering it. Here is a speech that will empower you – from his mouth and no one elses – and then there is a 1986 PBS documentary that offers a lens into his perseverance and drive. He was a born collaborator, creative genius, rebel: only interested in the status quo so that he could revolutionize. We love you Steve.

2011 Annual Report

In 2011, donors generously contributed $13,525—a 62% increase from 2010. We also received in-kind donations of laptops, Spanish books, and a full array of cooking implements for our newly finished community kitchen. To support Building Dignity’s steady growth, we have set our 2012 fundraising goal at $20,000. To meet this goal, we will need to broaden our donor base. We are off to a good start, raising $4,000 in the first month of 2012. Thank you to our donors for their vital support… in memory of Cathy Taylor

Gardeners

I was raised by a gardener. My mother spent every warm afternoon sunset in patchs of green, bent over toil – homage to the Earth in her garden. A Goddess: endowed with the powers to cultivate a plant or trash it.
